Volunteering at CenterPointe

In today’s world, mental health and substance use problems impact countless lives of individuals, and families; even schools and entire communities are affected. People of every social class, income, age, ethnic and racial segment of the population are affected in some way by substance use and mental health problems. The CenterPointe volunteer program works to decrease the stigma of mental illness and substance use problems in our community by breaking down barriers to understanding, and by joining volunteers with staff to accomplish CenterPointe’s mission to help individuals attain healthier, more productive lives.

As a volunteer you will participate in promoting CenterPointe and the welfare of our clients, but you will also gain many personal benefits:
• Service to the community
• New interests and skills
• New friendships
• Personal rewards gained from being of service to others
• Experience and references for future placements

When considering a volunteer position at CenterPointe, applicants are asked to make a commitment of six months to the program. Orientation and training help to determine the appropriateness of the placement and prepare the volunteer for the position that best suits their interests and skills.
