CenterPointe Needs

Psychological Testing and Diagnostic Software and Supplies
A new computer and software is needed that will improve the ability of CenterPointe’s Clinical Staff to assess aspects of client’s illness and assure that an accurate diagnosis is presented for treatment. This state of the art software and computer will substantially enhance the amount of staff time available for the process. Currently, forms are managed by hand and it is very time-consuming.

Medical and Emergency Needs
Emergency needs flex funding from Region V is not available for all clients. For residential clients, outpatient or day rehabilitation clients, funding is often not available. Funding is needed to help low-income, high-need families and individuals to obtain and sustain self-sufficiency by meeting emergency needs through direct payments to vendors for services such as transportation, prescriptions, medical, dental, baby supplies and formula, school supplies, vehicle repairs, and work needs such as uniforms or protective wear. In the past year, 67 clients had unfunded emergency needs, totaling $5,000.

Facilities Upgrades
CenterPointe has five facilities serving clients throughout Lincoln. The Out Patient services facility at 13th and E St. needs renovation to provide a larger group meeting space. The facility was originally built as a doctor’s office, so a large meeting space was not needed. Currently, the CenterPointe Out Patient facility serves approximately 170 clients per month.

Full-time Facility Maintenance Position
Currently, CenterPointe has one staff position who manages all information technology, as well as all five facilities that serve CenterPointe clients. With 100 employees and over 1,000 clients served a year, management of information is a critically important position. Many of the older facilities need upgrades and renovation and the new facility needs on-going maintenance.

Open Studios, Writer’s Wordshop, Artists on the Edge
This collaboration with Community Mental Health Center and the Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department offers bi-weekly art workshops for clients in recovery with professional artists and an annual exhibition of their work at the Loft above the Mill. It is a very positive way to celebrate their achievements. It is funded with foundation grants and needs on-going sustainable funding.

Transportation
Clients are taken to community destinations such as the zoo, museums and shopping malls to experience community life together. Youth in the residential program need transportation to schools. Clients are often taken to medical services.
