Join us for Food for Wellness, a FREE educational event focused on the healing power of food. Discover how nutrition plays a key role in overall wellbeing and sample a flavorful vegetarian dish prepared by award-winning Executive Chef Nazim Khan. Chef Khan, known for his innovative plant-based recipes and passion for community health, will share insights on using food as medicine to nourish both body and spirit.

Nazim Khan, CEC, WCEC, WCMC

Nazim Khan is an award-winning professional executive chef, CEC, WCEC, WCMC. Nazim began his career as a sushi chef in 1997. He has worked at the New York Marriott Marquis, Long Island Marriott and as executive sous chef at the New York Battery Park Ritz Carlton, as well as an educator and chef for Virginia Tech. Today he serves as executive chef for Bryan Health, where he developed multiple popular plant-based protein dishes for both retail and patient meal service. Chef Khan shares his passion for healthy, locally-sourced food at community events and at in-house culinary demos that encourage everyone to stay/get healthy, while also helping individuals struggling with illness to nourish body and spirit. In his free time, you can find Chef Khan serving local firefighter dinners, a continuing tribute to those who died on 9/11.
In 2016, Nazim was named one of the United Fresh Produce Excellence in Foodservice award winners. In 2019, Chef Khan achieved Worldchefs Certified Master Chef status. Chef Khan is a proud member of the Nebraska Food Council. Also, Chef Nazim received the Spotlight Award in 2024 from the Association for Healthcare Food service.
